In China,the output of non-woven industry has reached annual growth rate of 12% in last five years. Currently its total output ranks the first in Asia. About scale, there are over 1,000 nonwovens manufacturers, most are small scaled with backward equipments and their annual output is less than 70% of production capacity. In terms of manufacturing ways, most domestic plants adopt spunbonding and needle punching of which technology is ripe and technology threshold is low. But in terms of the application orientation of nonwoven fabrics, compounding manufacturing is the future trend.
From the material of the whole industry, chemical fiber and natural fiber respectively account for 85% and 15%. While among chemical fiber, polypropylene accounts for about half of the total output, followed by polyester, mucilage glue, PVA and polyamide. Therefore the supply status and price of polypropylene and polyester have a great impact on China nonwovens industry.
