They can be soft or stiff, strong or weak, directional or omni-directional in performance, have one or both sides smooth or uneven, provide bulk or be compact, two or three dimensional, solid or patterned openings, absorbent or repellent and be porous or impevious.Many of these capabilities can be combined in a receipt to satisfy an end use product. Nonwovens can be made with predetemined elongation,with stretch and recovery and with apertures in specific patterns.They can provide excellent substrates for coating,composites,laminating,printing,embossing and forming.
